If one were to look at the process cycle performed in the deployment and operation of a network, managed services exist whenever one or more functions are outsourced to an external provider.

Managed services allow the operator to maintain focus on serving the end customer. As infrastructure becomes increasingly standards-based and uses IP as the backbone, and as markets become saturated, interfaces with the customer take priority over those with the network. New entrants, who often have more expertise in their specific markets than in technology, seek external expertise to design and deploy the network, and then find they need ongoing support to maintain it. Government agencies — such as prisons who are increasingly seeking to manage access of mobile devices in their facilities — often do not have the requisite technology experience to deploy and support the necessary systems. Tecore manages multi-site networks globally for commercial and government clients. Network types can range from complete networks supporting paying subscribers, to specialized networks such as the Intelligent Network Access Controller (iNAC).

Tecore has developed and implemented documented procedures to monitor all aspects of its business processes, from development of new products to servicing of deployed networks.
