Columbia, MD, April 30, 2012 – Tecore Networks®, a pioneer global supplier of 3G and 4G/LTE mobile network infrastructure, today announced the arrival of the Mobility Virtualized Platform (MVP) for next generation wireless networks.

The MVP platform serves as the baseline for the award winning iCore Software Defined Core (SDC) Network. iCore delivers a software scalable Core Network solution for operators in 3G and 4G technologies with defined software upgradeability to migrate across generations. The MVP supports software-defined 3GPP compliant Core Network capabilities ranging from 3G UMSC, VLR, HLR, IN, GSN, to the integrated EPC capabilities of the 4G LTE. The patented implementation also delivers a full suite of integrated voice codecs and interface protocols supporting interworking and interconnects between networks and technologies. Additionally, operators have the option of partitioning platform resources to accommodate other third party applications and services on the same MVP host. The MVP architecture leverages commercial off-the-shelf hardware, combined with industry standard virtualization technology to accommodate the full suite of Core Network applications in a cloud-based architecture.

The MVP is available in scalable configurations ranging from the entry level 2000 series to the flagship 5000 series platform, facilitating emerging operators to grow the network cloud based on application requirements, system throughput, and subscriber capacity. This helps deliver an optimized total cost of ownership and a higher return on investment. By leveraging the All-IP architecture of the iCore system, growth is accommodated by adding processing capability and system resources on an as-needed basis. Through virtualization the system delivers key features including increased availability, redundancy, and hot swappable components. It also allows dynamic application and capacity scalability across the cloud-based pool of resources.

“As the rural and emerging operators around the world look to deploy the next generation of technology, the MVP provides the foundation for their deployment and evolution to cloud based services,” said Jay Salkini, President and CEO of Tecore Networks. “Continuing our 20 year tradition of addressing the needs of emerging operators, the MVP is the latest best-of-breed solution offered with a target on balancing carrier-grade capability with the flexibility required for smaller networks.”
